CONSERVATIVE & TEA PARTY PRODUCTS

Due to excessive deficit spending and the passage of unpopular (and perhaps illegal) Bills like Nationalized Health care, there is a growing public dissent against President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senator Reid. As a result, the Conservative and Tea Party movements are flourishing. Capacity crowds have led to blue chip Constitutional speakers, entertainment, and novelty vendors.

In which Arnold Palmer puts Ben Roethlisberger in his place

While growing up, every good father tells his son that your name is all that you take with you in life…and that character and how you treat people matter. The Pittsburgh Steelers, owned by the Rooney family, are one of the most heralded professional sports franchises around the world. As of late, their reputation has been put in question with several of their players charged with criminal misconduct, i.e. Santonio Holmes, a Super Bowl MVP, for breaking the substance abuse policy of the NFL. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was when their franchise Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, was being investigated for the alleged rape of a young woman near his vacation home in Milledgeville, GA. As a result, the Steelers are considering trading their 2-Time Super Bowl winning Quarterback because the Rooneys feel Roethlisberger's character flaws have been jeopardizing the name of the franchise and had become a distraction for the team. Roethlisberger's actions were cleared of any illegalities by the Georgia State Police because there was not enough evidence to prosecute him, but his indecent behaviors towards women have been obscene.

So the question remains, how important is character? Like football, the word "character" is often thrown around in politics. However, having good character is seldom covered by the media because scandals and poor behavior sell magazines and grab headlines. Of course, that changed during the 2010 NFL's Draft because without question, Tim Tebow, the Quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner out of the University of Florida was no doubt drafted as high as he was partly because he has impeccable character and leadership skills. The public needs to hold all of its celebrities, idols, athletes, politicians, leaders, etc. to a higher standard and demand good role models. Did Ben Rothlisberger’s father teach his son the proper social graces towards women? --Right now, Ben Roethlisberger is not a good example for young athletes or children because his behaviors have been atrocious. Will the "Roethlisberger" name be more associated with that of an elite NFL quarterback that has won 2 Super Bowls or that of an alleged rapist? Only time will tell, but it might not be told in Pittsburgh because the Rooneys are still considering trading him.

Well, when debating Ben Roethlisberger's character, here is a story from a BLOG that should be read and you decide for yourself. We’ll say one thing, if this is true, Arnold Palmer has amazing character.

“The good folks at Waggle Room won me over quite some time ago: They run one of the best golf blogs -- if not the best -- on the Intrawebs. Case in point is this story shared therein by Ryan Ballengee. It involves Ben Roethlisberger, whom I am quickly learning to detest, and one of the greatest golfers ever. I enjoyed it immensely.

This story was told to me just a few days ago from a very credible source. The Steelers have their training camp in Latrobe, PA -- a town absolutely owned by Arnold Palmer. Near the training camp is Laurel Valley golf club. It has hosted several major championships and is a big deal club in the area. Ben Roethlisberger came by during training camp one summer and said he wanted to get on the course to play. The pro shop said that they would accommodate him but that members that had tee times would go ahead of him and they would work him on.

So, Ben looks around the pro shop and starts buying up stuff. Makes his purchases, then disappears to the first tee. He's teeing off out of turn. The pro shop wrangles him down in the first fairway and demands that he return to the clubhouse to wait his turn to play. Eventually, he gets to go off. He runs into a bunch of people who naturally want his autograph. He says no to all of them. Doesn't want to be nice to the people letting him play their exclusive track.

When he's done with the round, Ben goes into the locker room in the clubhouse. He takes a shower and comes out, when a man comes up to him and tells him, "What you are going to do right now is go into the pro shop and sign autographs for every single person who wants them, and then you will never come back here again."

The man who told him that? Arnold Palmer.”

US Representative Bart Stupak: "Fame Monster" and "Benedict Arnold"

Most people associate the words “Fame Monster” with pop icon “Laga Gaga.” However, over the last year, the title may be more appropriate for US Representative Bart Stupak. Stupak has been on just about every radio and television show in the country conveying his major concern about passing health care legislation was that he was strongly Pro-life and would not allow Federal funds to pay for abortions. Specifically, that if permanent language was not written into the proposed Bill, he (and his fellow Pro-life Democrats), would NOT support National Health Care. The Pro-life community grew to admire Stupak for his dedication and convictions, but we learned Sunday evening that he may not have been as honest as he declared. And with the following YOUTUBE clip, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URr68joWr1E Stupak may have been nothing more than a “Benedict Arnold” seeking fame all along.

Over the last 2 weeks, you could not turn on the news without seeing Stupak’s face. Stupak reinforced his objection to the Senate Bill because the language was not strict enough to prevent the Federal funding of abortions. [The Senate Bill had become so unpopular that according to a Rasmussen poll, more than 55% of the public rejected it; where even Obama and Pelosi admitted it was imperfect. However, at the risk of not passing any legislation at all and an even greater political fallout in the November elections, Pelosi imposed a timeline to vote on Sunday. She could have chosen to rewrite the Bill and send it back to the Senate (what THE PEOPLE wanted), but she did not. This meant, with all the payoffs enclosed, only the Senate version could be voted on].

The health care vote was scheduled for Sunday evening, March 21, 2010, and Stupak “allegedly” had been holding his ground against President Obama and Speaker Pelosi that supported abortion coverage in the Bill. There were meetings around the clock attempting to please Stupak. Stupak maintained through his interviews Saturday that he would NOT cave in on his own religious beliefs making his Pro-life supporters very happy.

However, Sunday morning Stupak struck a deal with the President and Speaker Pelosi that was more flimsy than a deck of cards. He was offered a Presidential Executive Order that could be retracted at any time. The Executive Order temporarily forbid the Federal Funding of abortions, but noting that President Obama and Speaker Pelosi are the most Pro-Choice President and Speaker our country has ever elected, are they ones to be trusted because they wanted a Bill that covered abortions?

On Sunday evening, the Senate Bill was passed by the House 219-212. Then, on Tuesday, President Obama signed it into law. The House did send a revised Bill to fix the Senate's Bill's “flaws,” but the Senate does not have to recognize them.

In the end, the public is stuck with a Bill they didn't want, both the Senate Bill (signed into law) and the “House's fix” are filled with bribes, and the language restricting the federal funding of abortions rests on the stroke of Obama’s pen, instead of Bart Stupak’s word. So, with all-time low approval ratings of both the President and Congress, and their recent patterns of deception with the American People, it makes one wonder if Obama will withdraw the Executive Order, allowing federal funds in the Health Care Bill to be used in abortions.

American Sobriety: Brown Over Coakley

In a historic vote, on January 19, 2010, heavy underdog and State Senator Scott Brown defeated Attorney General Martha Coakley in a special election by a 52%-47% margin to replace the late Senator, Edward Kennedy, of Massachusetts. It has been nearly 4 decades since Massachusetts had elected a Republican to US Senate. Brown was able to overcome a once 30 point deficit by drawing a line in the sand between Coakley’s and his views on major issues.

Where Coakley toed the Obama line of Nationalized healthcare, higher taxes, providing Miranda rights to captured terrorists, etc., Brown vehemently opposed her outlook of the world and began to chip away at her lead at each campaign stop. His battle cry became, if elected, he would block the vote on Obamacare because he would break Senator Reid’s philibuster-proof Senate. Coakley ended the final week of her campaign by insulting Catholics, Red Sox fans, and misspelling “Massachusetts” in her ads, so it was clear that in a close race, the undecided voters primarily sided with Brown; thus helping him secure momentum leading up to the Election.

When reflecting, an addict often conveys that he/she had to hit rock bottom in his life before beginning the road to recovery and sobriety. Well, it appears that America is sobering up after drinking “Obama’s Kool Aid” of false campaign promises and wrong-headed policies. Obama’s election last November has led to increased unemployment, a bigger more intrusive Government, secret Bill negotiations, unconstitutional favors, higher taxes, record spending, a desire to pass an unpopular healthcare Bill, and a weaker National Defense policy.

The President has not governed from the center and the American public has soundly rejected his agenda, so America continues to deny Obama, Reid, and Pelosi’s policy efforts. It began with Gubernatorial victories in New Jersey and Virginia, but the snowball effect continued with Brown’s victory over Coakley in the Bluest of Blue States, Massachusetts. --Without question, the election of Scott Brown has changed the political landscape in Washington, DC and the Democrats no longer have an unchecked means to pass their agenda. --And, Brown, may indeed, block Obamacare.

As the November 2010 Elections approach, it appears that 2010 will be a very long year for President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid, and the Democratic Party.

Rush Limbaugh: Not A Heart Attack

On Wednesday, December 30, 2009, while playing golf in Hawaii, Conservative Radio Host, Rush Limbaugh, was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu after experiencing severe chest pains. Upon his arrival, Limbaugh began a series of tests under the supervision of cardiologist Dr. Magno to help diagnose the root cause of his chest pains. And within an hour, the staff was able to alleviate his discomfort. He remained in the hospital for observation and rested comfortably while awaiting the results of his angiogram.

The following day, after Limbaugh's doctors received his test results, the lab tests indicated there were no noticeable signs of a heart attack with no vessel damage or arterial disease. The cause of Limbaugh's pains remained a mystery due to any number of variables, but his results were a positive sign of his overall health.

After Limbaugh's release, on January 1, 2010, he held a press conference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oglQ3RP2PkA&feature=topvideos alongside Dr. Magno, where he graciously thanked all the medical professionals for his care and treament. Despite media pressures, Limbaugh downplayed the unpopular controversial health plan and political topics proposed by Senator Harry Reid, Speaker Pelosi, and President Obama because he did not feel that a hospital setting was an appropriate forum for poltical debate. Instead, he continued to express his gratitude and professionally gave all the credit to the medical staff that treated him. [NOTE: On December 30, 2009, in a Rasmussen Reports national phone survey, that only 39% of America Support Obamacare , while 58% are opposed to it with more and more Americans opposing the Bill as it becomes closer to passage]. However, Limbaugh did comment that the "US has the best healthcare system in the world" as it is and he was thankful to be born and treated in the United States. One reporter did snidely ask if he [Limbaugh] is taking pain killers again for his "back pain?" Defiantly, Limbaugh said "no, a steroid, Prednisone." [NOTE: In April 2006, Limbaugh entered into rehab after exclaiming he was addicted to prescription strength pain killers].

If you are a fan of Rush Limbaugh, you may send him a GET WELL message at elrushbo@eibnet.com.

Whatever the cause of your chest pains, Mr. Limbaugh, we, at TFR, wish you good health and remain free of any ailments for many years to come.
